Second Quarter 2023 Executive Director Message

“As we enter into the summer months, many of us are gearing up for family vacations, enjoying time at the pool, and attending festivals or if you live in a place where the summers are unbearably hot, just simply staying inside with your comfortable A/C. However, here at Vera Aqua Vera Vita, the hot summer months are when the blessing of reliable, clean water simply for hydration alone is a poignant reminder of the sad reality that millions of people around the world do not have the blessings we have. This reality will become all the more real for the team of ten missionaries who will be traveling with us to the desert heat of Piura, Peru at the end of July to serve our less fortunate brothers and sisters there who are in desperate need of sustainable, clean water! During our time there, we will be implementing our Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene + Theology of the Body education workshop, delivering basic sanitation & hygiene care packages to hundreds of people in the communities in which we work, and all the while striving to be Christ’s hands and feet as we literally encounter Christ himself in the poorest of the poor!… ”

Jacob Niemeier

Jacob Niemeier grew up in North America's heartland and from a very young age his Catholic Christian faith has been very important to him.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Science in Agriculture & Biological Engineering from Purdue University and continues to this day to uphold his Engineering license.

Jacob has a great passion for problem solving and adventure whether it is with water, the environment, travel, or people. While at Purdue, Jacob, also, recognized the needs and suffering of people in developing countries when he took mission trips to both Haiti and Africa which he credits as his inspiration for starting Vera Aqua Vera Vita.
